Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age (required)
  • 1 year of experience in Senior Living, with 1 year of experience working with persons living with dementia (required)
  • High School Diploma/GED required; college degree in healthcare, therapy, education, social work, or related field preferred
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with proven interpersonal abilities
  • Computer literacy and accurate documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively with residents, families, staff, and community partners
  • Applicants for this position must be able to produce a negative drug test.
  • Applicants may be subject to a background check.
  • Employees in this position must be able to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Memory Wellness programming for residents with dementia and cognitive impairments
  • Collaborate with team members to implement a routine-based activity schedule
  • Lead sensory-based and purposeful activities tailored to resident interests
  • Support a therapeutic, dementia-friendly environment
  • Promote residents’ physical, mental, and spiritual well-being
  • Encourage personal interests and empower individual capabilities
