As a Memory Care Program Coordinator at Brookdale Broadmoor, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents within the dementia care community. This position is centered around Brookdale's Resident and Family Engagement philosophy, where you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating a calendar of person-centered, dementia-friendly programs tailored to meet the specific needs of each resident. Your work will involve creating engaging and meaningful activities that honor the individual abilities, historical routines, interests, and preferences of residents, thereby promoting their independence and well-being. You will design a comprehensive program that operates seven days a week, ensuring that it is creative and engaging while addressing the diverse needs and interests of the residents. This includes promoting participation in the seven domains of well-being and providing sensory-focused small group programming for those who may not be able to engage in larger group settings. Collaboration with residents will be key as you develop a monthly calendar based on their shared interests, ensuring that special events and daily programs are executed as planned. In addition to program development, you will ensure that all dementia care programs comply with Brookdale's Excellence Standards Tool (BEST) and other relevant regulations. You will work closely with community leadership to educate families and associates about Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, facilitating training sessions and resources to enhance understanding and engagement. Your role may also include supervising Clare Bridge Program Assistants, conducting performance evaluations, and stepping into a supervisory capacity when needed. You will be responsible for planning and coordinating special events, managing the community's social media content, and maintaining the department's budget. The position may require you to perform personal care, housekeeping, and dietary responsibilities as needed, ensuring that service quality is upheld according to Clare Bridge Program standards. This job description provides an overview of your responsibilities, which may evolve as you work under the guidance of your supervisor.
