About The Position

The Memory Care Program Coordinator at Brookdale Senior Living is responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating person-centered dementia-friendly programs that enhance the quality of life for residents within the dementia care community. This role involves engaging residents in meaningful activities, ensuring compliance with care standards, and collaborating with community leadership to educate families and staff about dementia care.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in therapeutic recreation, gerontology, education, or related field preferred.
• Minimum two years of direct programming experience with older adults and persons with dementia preferred.
• Valid driver's license and a current 3-year driving abstract with no more than one moving violation.

Responsibilities

• Design a 7-day a week person-centered program that is engaging and meets the needs of individual residents.
• Develop a monthly calendar of activities based on residents' shared interests.
• Ensure compliance with Brookdale Excellence Standards Tool (BEST) and other regulations.
• Educate families and associates about Alzheimer's disease and dementia care.
• Supervise Clare Bridge Program Assistants as required, including hiring and performance evaluations.
• Plan and coordinate special events and programs, including educational and marketing events.
• Report changes in residents' health to clinical partners and collaborate on interventions.
• Oversee social media content to align with Brookdale's culture and standards.
• Plan and schedule programming events outside the community, including driving a community vehicle.
• Maintain department budget and manage volunteer programs.
