Memory Care Program Assistant Memory Care Program Assistant is responsible for providing support and assistance to residents. Assist, invite, and encourage residents to participate in activities. Assess and plan the facilitation of a comprehensive activities program. You will be required to assist at community planned functions including coordinating events from beginning to end. Help plan appropriate programs for holidays and special events. Assist with holiday decorations for the community. Coordinate with other departments to ensure that all equipment and supplies are available for activities and special events. Plan, coordinate, and facilitate appropriate mixed groups. Facilitate regularly scheduled and specialized activities. Maintain activity areas in an orderly manner. Assist in maintaining an inventory of activity and programming supplies, games, programs, and craft services. Oversee daily care of any animals and/or plants within the activities program and services. Assist in preparing and organizing a calendar of events. Submit the calendar to the Program Director for final approval. Post the calendar in appropriate area. Distribute community newsletter. Assist the Director in implementing the New Directions ™ program. Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous exposure to the senior population.
  • Ability to use software to design calendars and signs; use email and the Internet.
  • Respond promptly to resident needs.
  • Support organization's goals and values.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Competent in organizational and time management skills.
  • The ability to coordinate and plan events.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work semi-independently without direct supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous memory care programming/ activities experience preferred.
