Memory Care Director
About The Position
Charter Senior Living is seeking an experienced and compassionate Memory Care Director to lead the Memory Care neighborhood at Hamer Lake , our Jackson, WI community. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a professional with assisted living and dementia care experience who is passionate about resident-centered programming, team development, and operational excellence. The Memory Care Director is responsible for the overall leadership, operations, and success of the Memory Care neighborhood. This role champions Charter Senior Living's Flourish Memory Care philosophy and ensures the consistent delivery of dementia-informed, person-centered programming while maintaining regulatory compliance and operational standards. This position partners closely with the community leadership team to drive engagement, quality outcomes, team development, and occupancy goals. Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent experience required
- Minimum 3 years working with seniors , including 1+ year in dementia care
- 3-5 years of experience leading dementia-focused programs
- Experience managing staff, addressing behavioral challenges, and educating families
- Proven leadership and team development skills
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities
- Results-driven with attention to detail
- Compassionate, adaptable, and professional demeanor
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree preferred (Therapeutic Recreation, Social Work, Psychology, Human Development, Gerontology, or related field)
- Certifications preferred: - Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) - Activities Director Certification - Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations of the Memory Care neighborhood
- Train, coach, and develop Memory Care associates
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, company policies, and program standards
- Oversee dementia-specific therapeutic programming and life enrichment initiatives
- Collaborate with leadership to support service planning and occupancy goals
- Manage complex behavioral needs using person-centered approaches
- Partner with families to provide education, support, and communication
- Ensure consistent implementation of Flourish Memory Care philosophy
- Foster a culture of compassion, accountability, and engagement
