About The Position
The Memory Care Coordinator at MorningStar Senior Living plays a crucial role in managing the Memory Care Community, ensuring that all resident care needs are met with compassion and professionalism. This position is responsible for overseeing the hiring, training, supervision, and scheduling of caregivers and medication technicians. The Coordinator must monitor resident care needs closely, alerting the Wellness Director to any changes in condition, and addressing concerns from residents and their families. A genuine interest in working with residents suffering from dementia is essential, as is the ability to exhibit patience and understanding in all interactions with residents, families, and visitors. In addition to direct care responsibilities, the Memory Care Coordinator is tasked with maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. This includes conducting training sessions on dementia-related behaviors and interventions, ensuring that all staff are well-informed about the needs of residents and the specifics of their care plans. The Coordinator will also be responsible for documenting resident conditions, administering medications, and maintaining accurate records of care provided. The role requires strong leadership skills to promote teamwork across departments and ensure that all care staff are effectively communicating changes in resident conditions. The Coordinator will work closely with the Wellness Director to develop and update resident service plans and assessments, ensuring that care is tailored to each individual's needs. Additionally, the Coordinator will facilitate family support groups and coordinate activities that engage residents, enhancing their quality of life within the Memory Care Community.
