About The Position

The Memory Care Activity Coordinator at Centerra is responsible for organizing and facilitating activities that enhance the physical, mental, and psychological well-being of residents in the Generations/Memory Care program. This role involves planning events, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting resident participation in a vibrant social atmosphere. The coordinator works closely with the Vibrant Life® Director and is integral to the overall operations of the Memory Care department.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • One year of experience in conducting group activities and evaluating residents' needs for communities licensed for fifty or more persons.
  • At least one year of experience or equivalent education in working with a senior population with Alzheimer's/dementia.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in marketing and community outreach.
  • Knowledge of dementia care best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a creative social atmosphere throughout the property, particularly in Generations/Memory Care.
  • Promote resident and family participation through regularly scheduled events and activities.
  • Coordinate, plan, organize, and attend all special functions and activity programs with the Vibrant Life® Director.
  • Implement ISL Vibrant Life® Standards in the Generations/Memory Care.
  • Ensure activities acknowledge the cultural, religious, and ethnic diversity of residents and their families.
  • Encourage resident participation in all activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal and state regulations concerning the department.
  • Plan, schedule, prepare, and conduct staff in-services as directed.
  • Coordinate transportation needs of residents and maintain a transportation schedule for events and appointments.
  • Drive the community van as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge regarding senior activities and dementia/Alzheimer's through continuing education and networking.
  • Perform clerical work connected with the position, including the Monthly Vibrant Life® Calendar and Community Newsletter.
  • Assist with the setup of special events and aid in community marketing efforts.
  • Arrange for coverage of job duties during employee absences.
  • Participate in daily 'Stand-Up' meetings to communicate key issues within the department.
  • Obtain and maintain all state-required certifications/licensures.
  • Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests.
