Grand Villa of Englewood is seeking a dedicated and energetic Activities Coordinator to join our team and enhance the quality of life for our residents in the memory care unit. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, plan, and implement engaging recreational activities tailored to residents with memory impairments and dementia. - Assess residents’ interests, abilities, and needs to create personalized activity plans. - Foster a positive and stimulating environment that encourages socialization, cognitive engagement, and physical activity. - Collaborate with staff, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure activities support residents’ overall well-being. - Monitor and document residents’ participation and progress in activities. - Maintain a safe, clean, and organized activity space. - Stay informed about best practices and innovative approaches in memory care activities. Skills and Qualifications: - Proven experience working with seniors, particularly those with memory loss or dementia. - Strong knowledge of recreational therapy principles and activity programming. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Creative, energetic, and compassionate with a genuine passion for elder care. - Ability to assess individual needs and adapt activities accordingly. - Certification in recreational therapy, activity coordination, or related field preferred. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
