About The Position

The Memory Care Activities Coordinator at Brookdale North Gilbert is responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating person-centered dementia-friendly programs that enhance the quality of life for residents within the dementia care community. This role involves engaging residents in meaningful activities, ensuring compliance with care standards, and collaborating with community leadership to provide resources and education about dementia care.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in therapeutic recreation, gerontology, education, or related field preferred.
• Minimum two years of direct programming experience with older adults and persons with dementia preferred.
• Valid driver's license and a current 3-year driving abstract with no more than one moving violation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate a calendar of person-centered dementia-friendly programs.
• Engage residents in meaningful and purposeful dementia care programs.
• Design a 7-day-a-week program that meets the needs and interests of individual residents.
• Promote and engage residents in the 7 domains of well-being programs.
• Develop a monthly calendar based on residents' shared interests.
• Ensure compliance with Brookdale Excellence Standards Tool (BEST) and other regulations.
• Educate families and associates about Alzheimer's disease and dementia care.
• Supervise Clare Bridge Program Assistant/s as required.
• Collaborate in planning and participating in special events and educational programs.
• Report changes in residents' health to clinical partners and address concerns promptly.
• Oversee social media content to align with Brookdale's culture and standards.
• Plan and schedule programming events outside the community, including driving a community vehicle.
