About The Position

Pasadena Highlands is seeking a motivated, creative, and outgoing individual to join their Journey Programs department as a Full Time Memory Care Activities Assistant. This role involves working closely with the Journey Director, Journey Programs Coordinator, and care staff to ensure high resident participation in activities. Key responsibilities include assisting in the monthly planning and conducting of new activities, developing and maintaining daily exercise programming, and updating digital signs, schedules, and social media. The assistant will also help with marketing events, coordinate volunteers, and assist with transportation. The position requires a strong focus on resident safety and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Must have Assisted Living and Memory Care Experience
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must have or able to get CPR/First Aid within first month of employment

Responsibilities

  • Work with Journey Director, Journey Programs Coordinator and care staff to ensure that the highest possible number of residents attend each activity.
  • Assist in the monthly planning of the activity calendar.
  • Brainstorm with Journey Director and Journey Programs Coordinator to plan and to conduct new activities.
  • Update digital signs, menu activity schedules, and movie descriptions.
  • Assist with surveying residents and making observations and recommendations to determine what activities are of interest.
  • Help to develop and to maintain the daily exercise programming.
  • Communicate with Journey Programs Coordinator to ensure each program is being implemented to its fullest potential.
  • Provide Journey Programs Coordinator with feedback regarding the effectiveness of current programming.
  • Set-up for activities as necessary and assist in clean-up afterward.
  • Clean up and stow away supplies upon completion of activity.
  • Organize supplies and materials in an orderly fashion.
  • Notify the Activity Director in a timely fashion of all supplies that need to be replenished.
  • Practice good safety and protect residents from any possible harm.
  • Report all safety concerns immediately.
  • Assist with Marketing events.
  • Plan and lead activities according to monthly calendar and under the direction of Journey Director and Journey Programs Coordinator.
  • Assist in making flyers, calendars, newsletters and updating social media websites as needed.
  • Work with volunteers such as scheduling, training and organizing day-to-day assignments.
  • Assist with scheduling transportation or driving vehicles as needed.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and report any issues or concerns immediately.
