Requirements

  • Full-Time
  • Schedule: Days
  • Every Other Weekend rotation required (Sat/Sun)

Responsibilities

  • Resident-Centered Engagement
  • Facilitate small group and one-on-one activities tailored to residents’ abilities and interests
  • Adapt activities for different stages of dementia
  • Encourage participation while respecting each resident’s pace and comfort level
  • Therapeutic Activities
  • Lead programs such as:
  • Music and singing
  • Chair exercises or movement groups
  • Art and crafts
  • Games and sensory activities
  • Reminiscence and storytelling
  • Use sensory-based approaches (touch, sound, visuals, familiar objects)
  • Emotional & Social Support
  • Provide compassionate companionship
  • Offer reassurance and redirection during moments of confusion or agitation
  • Build trusting relationships with residents and families
  • Daily Structure & Routine
  • Help maintain a calming, predictable daily routine
  • Assist with special events, celebrations, and themed programs
  • Escort residents to and from activities as needed
  • Documentation & Teamwork
  • Document resident participation and responses to activities
  • Communicate changes in behavior or engagement to nursing and care teams
  • Work closely with the Activities Director and Memory Care staff
