About The Position

As a Membership Consultant, you'll be the first point of contact for prospective members — guiding them through the Chelsea Piers experience, understanding what they're looking for, and connecting them with the membership that fits their life. Your success will be built on relationships, not pressure. You'll work alongside a supportive team of fellow Membership Consultants, a Membership Manager, and a General Manager who are invested in your growth and your results.

Requirements

  • A natural connector — outgoing, warm, and genuinely curious about people
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset; you don't wait to be told what to do
  • Strong communicator, both in person and in writing
  • Highly organized with excellent follow-through
  • Passionate about fitness, health, and/or athletics
  • Availability to work weekends and occasional evenings or holidays as needed

Responsibilities

  • Adoption of relationship-based sales philosophy focused on information discovery
  • Prospecting, lead generation, and building of referral business
  • Sale of new memberships
  • Mastery of all member opportunities within the club; connecting new members to areas of interest to set them up for success and long-term membership
  • Working cohesively with a team of Sales Account Managers and a Membership Director to be successful individually and as a team
  • Establishing a strong sales pipeline, meeting sales objectives, and collaborating with a team to achieve the overall goals of the business
  • Managing select events geared towards engaging the membership base and/or generating interest in and excitement around the club
  • Serving as a visible and active goodwill ambassador with members and at select special events
  • Delivering superior customer service with an aim towards member retention
  • Build genuine relationships with prospective members through consultative, discovery-based conversations
  • Prospect, generate leads, and develop a strong referral network
  • Guide prospective members through tours and needs assessments, then match them to the right membership
  • Develop deep knowledge of the club's programs, amenities, and community so you can set every new member up for long-term success
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and consistently meet monthly goals
  • Collaborate with your team to hit collective targets — we win together
  • Represent Chelsea Piers at select member events and community initiatives
  • Deliver exceptional service that drives both new memberships and long-term retention
