About The Position

The Membership Representative 2 is a very important, highly visible position providing exceptional customer service to our community. In this role, you will develop strong, supportive relationships focusing on the member's needs. You will assist in the enrollment process for membership and programs that will help community members achieve their goals.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn within 90 days (MS Word, MS Excel, Daxko helpful)
  • BLS Requirement Physically perform all CPR and First Aid skills and/or assist as needed in emergency situations
  • Prefer a minimum of one year or more experience in work relating to customer service, either paid or volunteer.
  • A high degree of human relations skills: Ability to effectively communicate and manage information to peers, staff, and volunteers
  • Must be able to clearly see, hear, and speak.
  • Must be able to bend, stand, stoop, and walk.
  • Ability to constantly and quickly move to various locations in and around the entire facility
  • Must be able to comprehend and communicate written and verbal instructions

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes and greets all members and prospective members as they enter our facilities.
  • Communicates the value and benefit of the YMCA as a non-profit in the community and the benefits of a YMCA Membership
  • Regularly works within our Daxko Operations software to sell and update memberships and to register participants for programs (youth sports, swim lessons, etc.).
  • Understands all program offerings, pricing, business policies, and procedures and is proficient in Daxko Operations.
  • Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
  • Guides prospective members on highly engaged cause-driven tours, highlighting the community work of the Y and the value of a Y membership.
  • Attends all staff meetings and trainings, as required.
  • Creates excellent member experiences through engaging conversations and connecting them to membership benefits and programs.
  • Process membership and program registrations keeping a focus on correct standard operating procedures.
  • Provides highly engaged cause-driven tours.
  • Be a team player working well with others and being punctual.
  • Offer excellent in-person and phone communication, answering community member questions.
  • Works well with multiple computer software systems for registrations, scheduling, reservations, and other transactions.
  • Help train new Membership Representatives with supervisor guidance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
