About The Position

We are looking for a Membership Accountant to join the re-opening of the famed Delano Miami Beach. Set to open its doors in early 2026, Delano Miami Beach will fuse historic charm with contemporary luxury, reflecting a reimagined experience that pays homage to the original visionary concept. Comprising 170 rooms and distinct food and beverage concepts, the hotel will preserve its iconic walk-in pool and, in addition, unveil a new pool on an amenity deck, offering breathtaking views of the ocean. Delano Miami Beach will act as the brand's flagship location, re-establishing Delano as a trailblazer in luxury lifestyle hospitality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in accounting, preferably within membership-based organizations or recurring revenue environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and membership billing processes.
  • Proficient in preparing and reconciling financial reports related to accounts receivable and membership revenue.
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills and a commitment to accuracy in financial data management.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with members and cross-functional teams to resolve billing issues.
  • Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple billing cycles and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate processing and recording of all membership dues, fees, and related financial transactions.
  • Prepare and issue timely invoices and statements to members in accordance with the organization's billing schedule.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collection of payments.
  • Reconcile membership accounts regularly to maintain accuracy and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain up to date and organize financial records related to membership activities, including billing, payments, and adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the Membership and Finance teams to support accurate member data entry and account setup.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to membership revenue, aging reports, and other relevant financial metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in all membership related financial activities.
  • Support audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries related to membership accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve billing and accounting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Respond to member inquiries regarding billing and account status in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assist in month end and year end closing processes as they relate to membership accounting functions.
  • Perform additional finance-related tasks or responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the Finance Department.
  • Provide lateral service as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service.
