About The Position

The Member Specialist at Sam's Club is responsible for providing comprehensive member service, managing the checkout, entrance, and exit areas, and resolving member issues. This role involves promoting Sam's Club products and services, assisting members with self-service technology, processing purchases, and handling returns, refunds, and exchanges according to company policies. The specialist must adhere to company safety standards, conduct safety sweeps, and report unsafe situations. Key duties also include verifying membership cards, assisting with purchasing decisions, organizing merchandise, and maintaining a safe shopping environment. Furthermore, the position requires assisting in securing company assets by observing and reporting potential criminal activity, maintaining documentation, and executing emergency procedures. A significant aspect of the role is assisting with the training of new Member Frontline Services associates, teaching new technology, and delivering new program rollout training to foster continuous learning and process improvement.   • Assists with payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges according to company policies and procedures for different membership and payment types
  • Follows company safety standards, procedures, and guidelines, including conducting safety sweeps
  • Follows proper procedures for handling merchandise
  • Corrects and reports unsafe situations to facility management
  • Maintains entrance areas
  • Acknowledges members, verifies membership cards, and identifies member needs
  • Assists members with purchasing decisions

  • Assists with the training of Member Frontline Services associates on company processes and procedures
  • Teaches new technology and tool functionality

  • Ensures area of responsibility is maintained in accordance with company policies and procedures by properly handling returns
  • Identifies shrink and damages
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices
