About The Position

Role: To preserve the Credit Union's assets by controlling delinquent loan accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments and/or recovering collateral. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Analyzes financial situation of delinquent borrowers and maintain accurate files and reports on all collection's activity. Make recommendations to repossess collateral when other arrangements to bring the loan current are unsuccessful. Arranges for the sale of repossessed collateral. Accurately performs credit report corrections. Manages Bankruptcy process through all stages of bankruptcy. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • One year to three years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation.
  • Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely contact of members with delinquent loans to inquire about re-payment intent.
  • Maximize the collection and/or recovery of credit union assets from delinquent and charged-off accounts.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all collection and recovery activity.
  • Ensure collection activity is always within Credit Union policy and all relevant regulations.
  • Provide informed, professional, and accurate service and support to all members and employees.
  • Keep management informed on potential loss accounts to the Credit Union.
