About The Position

Join the American Angus Association as a Member Services Representative and play a key role in supporting Angus breeders across the country. Based in our St. Joseph, MO office, this position is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to learn more about the beef industry. Member Services Representatives provide world-class customer support and help maintain the most extensive single-breed database in the world, ensuring every member interaction reflects the Association’s commitment to accuracy, service, and industry leadership. In this role, you will assist breeders with everything from record submission to herd management, guiding them through processes that are essential to their success. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, develop expertise in Association programs and policies, and serve as a valuable resource to members navigating their accounts and data. Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills, including active listening.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Problem-solving ability and strong information retention.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to meet timelines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Comfortable working in an office environment using computers, phone systems, and associated technology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliability, dependability, and a positive, learning-oriented attitude.
  • Report to the office in St. Joseph, MO full time (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.) as remote/ hybrid work schedules are not available for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Agricultural background is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to members and breeders through phone, email, fax, and the Association’s Message Center.
  • Assist breeders with data submission and herd management using Association-provided tools and resources.
  • Deliver accurate information, guidance, and solutions related to membership accounts, orders, policies, and general inquiries.
  • Efficiently process member requests including registrations, transfers, corrections, performance data, and membership updates.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of Association programs, products, services, and beef cattle terminology.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and provide support across departments as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the mission and operations of the Association.
