About The Position

We are currently seeking versatile, motivated candidates for a Full-Time Member Services Representative to join our founding Kentwood/Grand Rapids branch team. This is a dynamic role that combines lending expertise with essential financial transaction responsibilities. This position offers the opportunity to earn incentive pay. You will ensure that our new members are promptly and professionally served, whether you are facilitating a loan or performing teller functions. This is a comprehensive role involving both lending and cash handling responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Sales experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of lending processes is helpful.
  • Excellent communication skills and a "member-first" attitude.
  • Professional appearance, dress, and attitude.
  • Strong math skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate related computer applications and standard business equipment.
  • Good typing and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lending Excellence: Perform loan transactions from the initial application all the way to payout, following Genisys lending procedures and guidelines.
  • Financial Transactions: Receive checks and cash for deposits and loan payments; verify amounts; and examine checks for endorsement and negotiability.
  • Member Support: Disburse cash/check withdrawals and process/sell cash advances, money orders, gift cards, and other specialized transactions.
  • Accuracy & Balancing: Maintain a precise teller tape for all transactions, balance daily totals, and investigate/resolve any out-of-balance conditions.
  • Account Management: Assist members with opening and closing membership accounts, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience.
  • Strategic Growth: Proactively cross-sell credit union products and services to help members reach their financial goals and meet branch objectives.
  • Problem Solving: Ensure all member requests and questions (in person, via phone, or digital) are resolved with the highest level of service.
  • Licensing: Obtain the appropriate state license to sell loan protection insurances.
