About The Position

This role will develop relationships with members to identify banking needs and ensure their service needs are met. The Sentry Credit Union is looking for a customer oriented professional to join the team as a Member Services Representative. Work hours are Monday through Friday- no weekends or evenings! What You'll Do As a Member Services Representative, you will: Meet with potential and existing members to understand their banking needs, explain features, and sell deposit products and auxiliary services to provide members a financial services package that meets their needs. The available services include but are not limited to debit cards, overdraft protection, payroll deduction, online and mobile banking, remote deposit capture, bill payment and picture pay services. Open routine to complex accounts (i.e. shares, clubs, share drafts and money markets, estate, trust, and custodial) and sets up requested services, ensuring members are provided all regulatory disclosures and understand the features and services available to them. Perform basic to complex account maintenance for members, such as changing beneficiaries, adding power of attorney, handling deceases member accounts, processing change names, and modifying account types ensuring all necessary paperwork has been obtained and account changes meet member’s requests. Assist members with various service needs and questions including stop payments, statement copies, reconciling account discrepancies, researching encoding errors, etc. Perform all necessary tasks for closing accounts to assure that all services are discontinued including debit cards, direct deposit, online services, and automatic payments, etc. Process fraud and blocked card alerts received from external debit card processor. Communicate with members to discuss notifications and reissues cards as appropriate. Additionally, you will: Process deposit applications received via online requests and communicate with members to sign and provide necessary documents, ensuring accounts are compliant and accurate. Identify and convert minor accounts to regular share accounts, ensuring members are notified of the change and necessary documentation is received. Maintain current knowledge and consistent compliance with all credit union regulations, policies, and procedures. Perform other job-related duties as assigned from time to time.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of credit union operation and services
  • Basic bookkeeping and typing skills
  • PC knowledge beneficial for preparing insert materials
  • Communication and human relation skills
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills
