About The Position

The Santa Barbara Zoo is seeking a part-time Member Services Ambassador who will provide exceptional customer service and administrative support to the Membership Team. This role involves interacting with current and prospective members, handling inquiries, and assisting with membership processes while maintaining a welcoming environment at the Zoo.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Some college coursework preferred.
  • Prior experience in customer service desirable.
  • Experience with member/donor databases is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Raiser's Edge software.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a shared open space environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first touchpoint for member inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
  • Answer department phone and voicemails promptly.
  • Facilitate member entrance into the Zoo.
  • Process membership mail and phone orders.
  • Handle gift memberships and membership billing/accounting research.
  • Assist with data entry into the Point-of-Sale (POS) system and membership database.
  • Respond to public inquiries regarding membership and Zoo programs.
  • Perform administrative tasks and assist team members as needed.
  • Keep track of membership supplies and restock or order as necessary.
  • Digitally issue and mail out membership materials.
  • Stay informed about Zoo happenings and attend meetings as required.
  • Adhere to the Zoo's policies and procedures.
