About The Position

The Member Services Advocate is an entry level position in Member Services responsible for creating a positive and memorable experience for the members. The Member Services Advocate works within a team but may work independently on occasion. Works under moderate supervision.

Requirements

• Ability to type at least 40 words per minute with an 80% accuracy rate
• Ability to construct sentences with proper punctuation free of spelling and/or grammatical errors at an 80% accuracy rate
• Basic knowledge of medical and vision terminology as it relates to employee insurance and benefits administration
• Ability to read, review and enter data into a CRM system
• Basic knowledge of MS Office, use of calculator and standard office equipment
• Effectively manages time to maintain productivity standards
• Understands and adheres to TX Health Benefits Pool’s privacy standards
• Understands and adheres to Member Services Quality guidelines
• Maintains adherence to TX Health Benefits Pool’s attendance policy
• At least Six months experience in customer service, preferably in healthcare
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

• Preferred Six months experience in a call center environment taking inbound phone calls
• Preferred Two-year Associates Degree

Responsibilities

• Answers inbound phone calls from members.
• Completes insurance benefit and eligibility verification with members and answers inbound phone calls and emails from members.
• Assists members with open enrollment of benefits
• Assists Members with Spending Account questions
• Promotes the use of TX Health Benefits Pool website and online tools to members
• Communicates complex claim issues and properly escalates calls
• Updates mailing addresses, phone numbers and email addresses for members
• Resets passwords for membership as needed
