Role: To assist members with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: 45% Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments; sells money orders and official checks to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed. 20% Implement the Credit Union's member experience process by cross-selling the Credit Union's services, providing routine information and directing members to appropriate departments for specific information and services. 10% Assist members with opening and closing accounts, answers questions about products and services and resolves problems that are within their authority to resolve. Refers problems that are beyond their authority to their supervisor, along with their recommendations. 5% Performs other job related duties as assigned. 5% Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including filing, computer input and answering the telephone. 5% Responsible scanning all appropriate work daily. 5% Balances cash drawer and daily transactions. 5% Complete continuing education as needed with any and all assigned training. Performance Measurements: 1. Provide friendly, professional, personal service to all members and employees. 2. Fulfill the Teller Standards as required. 3. Accurately post transactions, having no more than 3 unresolved posting errors in a 30 day period. 4. Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner. 5. Proactively seek opportunities to identify appropriate products and services to meet our member's financial needs. 6. Maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness. 7. Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance. Knowledge and Skills: Experience One to twelve months of similar or related experience. Education A high school education or GED and job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program. Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication. Other Skills Ten key calculator and computer keyboard by touch. Must be good with detail to deal with numbers and names. Physical Requirements Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time in one area. Work Environment This role is based in a member-facing office where professionalism, courtesy, and strong communication skills are essential. Employees regularly engage with members in person and over the phone, supporting a positive and welcoming atmosphere while working within a team-oriented setting.
