The mission of the team is to ensure seamless cluster lifecycle management, with an emphasis on collaboration across various product teams at Nutanix to drive operational excellence and improve the user experience. You will report to the Hiring Manager, who embodies a leadership style that values teamwork and open communication. The manager fosters an environment where collaboration is encouraged and team members are empowered to contribute ideas and solutions effectively.

Requirements

• Excellent design and coding skills in Python, Golang
• Experience in designing and developing core software infrastructure
• Strong familiarity with operating systems internals, particularly Unix/Linux
• Understanding of hypervisors like ESXi, KVM, or HyperV
• Ability to design software with clean interfaces and APIs
• Familiarity with key distributed design principles
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work in a team environment
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 6 to 8 years of experience in related fields.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Core Software Infrastructure for the Nutanix distributed cluster
• Ability to make the code extendable for a massively distributed infrastructure with several nodes with millions of entities.
• Ability to design software with clean interfaces and APIs with other components
• Understand intrinsic details about key distributed design principles like CAP theorem, PACELC etc. and ability to apply in virtualized environments.
• Interact with other teams across the system software stack to clearly communicate and express your technical views and design
• Work in a fast-moving agile environment
• Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills
