If so, you'll have the opportunity to join our dynamic NCM team at Nutanix, where you will play a crucial role in driving quality-first initiatives and shaping the future of our AIOps products while collaborating closely with talented development and UI/UX engineers in a supportive hybrid work environment. About the Team The NCM (Nutanix Cloud Manager) team is based in San Jose, California, and focuses on providing a holistic multicloud management platform that enhances the operational efficiency of enterprises. The mission of the team is to simplify the building, usage, operation, and governance of applications and IT infrastructure. The culture within the NCM team is one of collaboration and innovation, where team members are encouraged to share ideas and continuously improve processes to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of customers. The team's work is centered around intelligent operations, ensuring a quality-first mindset while leveraging insights and automation for effective resource management and governance. You will report to a Senior Manager, who fosters a leadership style that emphasizes open communication, empowerment, and continuous learning among team members. The work setup for this position is hybrid, requiring the hire to work in the office part-time, typically around two to three days a week, enabling effective collaboration while also providing flexibility for remote work. This role does not have any required travel, allowing the candidate to focus on their responsibilities from the primary office location and through remote work arrangements when necessary.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Automation, preferably using Python
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field
  • Proficiency in developing Python API test frameworks
  • Strong understanding of Linux and Distributed Systems
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V)
  • Experience with version control systems (GIT) and Continuous Integration tools (Jenkins/CircleCI)
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in UI automation (Selenium), Docker, and Kubernetes

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for NCM AIOps products.
  • Define automation strategies and quality metrics within release timelines to enhance product quality.
  • Take ownership of end-to-end product quality, ensuring thorough testing and effective automation.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams, providing insights and feedback to improve product design and user experience.
  • Debug product issues independently and track bug reports to resolution.
  • Enhance existing automated tests and optimize overall testing efficiency.
  • Maintain a high quality index (QI) for the product/features throughout the development cycle.
  • Set first-year objectives that include improving automation coverage and implementing new testing frameworks for AIOps products.
