About The Position

This position is accountable for providing exceptional service in a call center environment with a focus on cross-selling loans, financial products and services. The role involves meeting service goals, sales expectations, and providing member support to approximately 200,000 credit union members. The position reports directly to the Member Service Center Assistant Manager or Member Service Center Supervisor, with no direct reports under this position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Member Loan Specialist I: 2 years’ experience in a financial institution or related field, including consumer loan experience.
  • Member Loan Specialist II: 3 years’ experience in a financial institution (1 year as Member Loan Specialist I) or related field, including real estate loan experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced call center environment.
  • Previous experience in a call center preferred.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Windows applications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Cross-sell credit union products and services, recommending products that meet member needs.
  • Advise members with new account and loan inquiries, answering questions about consumer accounts and deposit and loan products.
  • Cross-sell and originate Consumer Loans applications, gathering member information and explaining loan features.
  • Follow policies and procedures, adhering to regulations and maintaining ethical conduct.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of credit union products and services.
  • Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while ensuring accurate processing of member applications.
  • Provide exceptional member service, listening to member needs and resolving issues effectively.
  • Serve as a backup to Member Service Representatives in call center phone queues.
  • Maintain California Endorsee Number for quoting and cross-selling vehicle protection products.
  • Perform other relevant and related duties as required.
