About The Position

The Member Advisor role at PenAir Credit Union focuses on enhancing the lives of members through exceptional service in a retail environment. This position combines responsibilities of a teller and member service representative, aiming to uncover members' needs and provide appropriate financial solutions. The role emphasizes a consultative sales approach, educating members on products and services while ensuring accurate transaction processing and record maintenance.

Requirements

• Minimum two (2) years of financial institution experience in member service or cash operations, or comparable experience in cash handling, customer service, or sales.
• A high school education or GED.

Responsibilities

• Processes a wide variety of financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and check cashing.
• Uncovers existing and potential members' needs and recommends solutions to improve their financial well-being using a sales through service consultative approach.
• Conducts basic member service and loan functions such as consumer accounts, disputes, account maintenance, and unsecured loans.
• Proactively educates members on emerging and existing self-serve technology and digital solutions such as mobile/online banking and bill pay.
• Ensures appropriate records are maintained and required reports are prepared, including end of day balancing and night drop.
• Recognizes referral opportunities and refers members to internal business partners for specialized services.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
