About The Position

Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc. is seeking a Melt Shop Crew Member II to join our team. Established in 1994 and headquartered in Bridgeville, PA, we operate plants in North Jackson, OH, Dunkirk, NY, and Titusville, PA. Our company specializes in producing semi-finished and finished specialty steel long products and plates, including stainless steel, tool steel, bearing steel, gear steel, and aircraft quality low alloy steels for various industries. We are committed to providing the best quality, delivery, and service possible. This position offers a competitive wage starting at $19.50, increasing to $20.00 after the probationary period, with a differential for night shifts. The role involves working 12-hour shifts on a 4 on, 4 off schedule, either during the day or night, depending on availability.

Requirements

• Prior steel mill or industrial furnace experience
• Tow motor and crane experience are required
• Welding experience is a plus
• Must have reliable transportation
• High school diploma or equivalent is required

Nice To Haves

• Remote crane experience (1 year preferred)
• Forklift experience (1 year preferred)
• Experience in metal working
• Experience in manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Assisting operators with creating steel ingots from scratch
• Preparing raw materials for the melting process
• Helping with the pouring and molding process
• Organizing, breaking down, and re-building launders using hand tools and air-powered tools
• Moving materials via tow motor and/or removing them with an overhead crane
• Maintaining housekeeping and organization in the work area
