About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Meetings and Groups Manager to join our Sales team! While this description is meant to give you an idea of how we see the role, it is not meant to be all-inclusive. As we adjust our service offerings and model, additional responsibilities may be asked of you to meet the ongoing operational needs.

Requirements

  • You have at least 2 years of hotel sales or other related experience.
  • A problem solver; you love taking on difficult challenges and finding creative solutions. You don’t get flustered easily. If you don’t know the answer, you’ll dig until you find it.
  • You think on your feet. You like learning new things, and you can learn quickly. When things change, you know how to roll with the punches.
  • You communicate clearly. You write well. You speak eloquently. You can explain just about anything to anyone, and you’re comfortable communicating in person, in writing and on the phone.
  • You are motivated and driven. You volunteer for new challenges without waiting to be asked. You keep knocking on doors well after others give-up. You’re going to take ownership of the time you spend with us and truly make a difference.

Responsibilities

  • Help get those social groups and meetings booked in and across the line!
  • Everything from proposals and contracting to working with the hotel operating systems.
  • As a master communicator and team liaison, you will help prepare and distribute BEO’s and other reports throughout the hotel.
  • Work closely with the hotel’s operations team to help them prepare incredible stays and events that will blow our guests away.
  • Check yourself (and others) with personal performance reports and quality control checks.
  • Meet, greet, and entertain all new and existing clients (think: appointments, site tours, cold calls, etc.)
  • Be nice to people, respond quickly, and negotiate fairly.
  • Achieve monthly revenue targets and objectives.
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales to produce an annual Sales Activity Plan.
  • Manage and convert key business and set regular conversion days.
  • Make sure the hotel’s CRM is updated and in tip top shape.
  • Keep the team in the loop – attend weekly meetings such as sales strat, RevMax, and BEO.
  • Oversight of our meeting space, the Apartment – everything from ordering to inventory.
  • Understanding clients’ needs and partnering with the Apartment host to set up for success.
  • Deliver unforgettable hospitality within all areas of the business and cultivate a sales culture within the operations team.
  • You’ll take safety seriously and follow all fire & security procedures, health & safety standards, and ensure you’re working in a safe manner at all times.
