About The Position

Responsible for the integration of the nursing process to include: coordination/management of patient care; organizing, planning, directing and evaluating of services provided with a core focus on facility and associated departments. Provides leadership, direction and mentorship/support to the staffing needs for the designated specialty. Provides leadership, direction and mentorship/support to the staffing needs for the designated speciality area(s). As a Clinical Expert, ensures the provision of clinically competent services by validating staff competency in the provision of a comprehensive range of services/care in accordance with standards of excellence, age-specific and cultural sensitivity established by Riverside Health System and facility goals and strategic plans. Performs other duties as assigned. What you will do Demonstrates ability to assess patient clinical ands psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population served in the Critical Care/Telemetry units/departments (see unit specific competencies and equipment checklists). Partners with patients and families to develop, implement and evaluate plan of care, treatments and procedures that contribute to the physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient. Assesses and incorporates evidence-based standards of practice. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in the coordination care. Facilitates safe patient transitions to the next care setting as part of plan of care. Demonstrates a sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput to assure patients receive consistent, competent, and ethical care. Focuses on quality outcomes of patient care when addressing customer’s needs to include current evidence based practice and quality measures. Demonstrates understanding of diverse patient care populations and ability to modify education method to ensure patient/family comprehension. Educates by assuming responsibility to individualize and coordinate patient education, and discharge specific education that includes family/caregiver. Evaluates for patient comprehension and documents. Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements. Ability to delegate and prioritize tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and ensure patient care needs are met. Able to recognize and respond to emergency situations. Evaluates own needs for support and uses identified systems to meet need.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree, Nursing (Required)
  • 1 year Recent relevant experience (Required)
  • 1 year Supervisory experience (Required)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Licensed as Registered Nurse by state of Virginia or compact state Upon Hire(Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Masters Degree, Nursing (Preferred)
  • Specialty Certification (e.g., CMSRN, CCRN, etc.) Upon Hire (Preferred)
