Managing a critical function within our organization, namely medical malpractice (Medmal) underwriting operations, as well as supervising and growing the medical malpractice portfolio across LATAM region. Specifically, on a day-to-day basis, will hold accountability for the following job duties: Oversee efforts to grow and consolidate the Medmal business line profitably by adopting best practices and ensuring compliance with global guidelines. Assist the Financial Lines local teams in the countries with the retention and development of new business, products and coverages, as well as technical training and capacity building. Analyze, evaluate, accept and/or decline new business, renewals and endorsements within the scope of her underwriting authority and in accordance with Home office guidelines, for the issuance of documents and her final validation. Provide specific follow-up to their Portfolio / Channels through the underwriting team. In case of issues related to their Portfolio, communicate and report to the immediate superior to achieve the technical result of the line and compliance with the production plan. Identify and refer risks that are outside her authority and present them at the appropriate level to cover with the issuance and underwriting process in an organic manner. Oversee the creation of specialized endorsements requested by insurance producers or businesses to increase competitiveness. Oversee efforts to develop, analyze, and provide feedback on the results of underwriting, profitability, market, competition and preparation of reports and ad hoc projects. Annual Portfolio review presentation and analysis. Following up on the database for the negotiation of reinsurance contracts and placement of facultative reinsurance. Each year Chubb renews its Treaty for Medmal line of business, which requires gathering all data and develop a robust business case to ensure appropriate renewal conditions, showing Chubb´s medmal portfolio to be profitable and healthy. Overseeing the claims process, ensuring claims are handled efficiently by implementing a loss reserve policy.
