About The Position

Serves as a senior technical specialist responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of medium voltage electrical distribution systems supporting government and mission-critical operations. This role helps ensure reliable electrical power across maintenance shops, operational areas, support facilities, and other controlled-access environments.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Lineman or appropriate electrical journeyman license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with medium voltage electrical work, including cable splicing/termination, switchgear, and distribution network operations.
  • Proven cable splicing certifications for medium voltage terminations and splices.
  • Experience with switches, reclosers, protective relays, and electrical distribution devices in industrial or military environments.
  • Strong ability to read and apply technical publications, electrical codes, safety regulations, and engineering drawings.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain required installation/base access.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA-30, CPR/First Aid, and other safety certifications.
  • Experience on military installations or in industrial, mission-critical, or secure government environments.
  • Knowledge of federal and DoD electrical safety and facility standards.

Responsibilities

  • Install, modify, maintain, and troubleshoot medium voltage electrical distribution systems (1 kV to 35 kV) including switchgear, reclosers, transformers, protective devices, and control equipment.
  • Perform medium voltage cable terminations, splicing, and stress cone installations in accordance with industry standards and applicable safety directives.
  • Energize, de-energize, isolate, and ground medium voltage circuits following established switching procedures and safety protocols.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, as-built drawings, one-line diagrams, and engineering specifications for facility distribution systems.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on medium voltage protective devices and controls, including switches, breakers, reclosers, and relays, to ensure electrical system reliability.
  • Coordinate with operations leadership and safety personnel to plan outages, switching orders, and electrical maintenance activities that impact mission operations.
  • Maintain and update system test records, splicing documentation, and certification logs for all electrical tasks and inspections.
