About The Position

Purpose and Scope: Drives gas or diesel powered trucks. Pick up, transport and deliver Government Seized Property to assigned destinations. Vehicles typically weigh more than 5 Tons. Drives vehicles both on and off of government and commercial facilities in all types of traffic. Interfaces with Government Law Enforcement Personnel at many levels and serves as an ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public. Performs inventory on all property received and released and ensures accountability on Bills of Lading and Chains of Custody. Completes daily logs and inspection reports. Essential Responsibilities: Drives trucks up to 26,000 lbs to destinations for pick-up and delivery based on instructions or directions received and by using maps. Inspects truck for defects before and after trips. Monitors vehicle during operation and reports maintenance/repair requirements to Management. Secures loads being transported to ensure safe and undamaged arrival at destination. Loads and Unloads vehicles with Material Handling Equipment. Help manage routes and routines to achieve efficiency. . Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • Minimum six months general experience.
  • Minimum six months specific experience which will demonstrate knowledge required to perform requirements of position.
  • High school diploma or GED required. May substitute experience for education at the rate of one year of specific experience for one year of high school.
  • Ability to write correspondence and maintain logs, if required.
  • Must be able to obtain license to use any equipment for which a current license is not held within 30 days of selection.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT physical certification.
  • Must meet all Federal, State and local laws, rules and regulations.
  • Must have valid operator’s license .
  • No major chargeable accidents in the last 3 years and no more than 1 minor chargeable per year in the last 3 years.
  • Position will require 80% travel which will include a per diem.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, possess and maintain security requirements.
