Responsible for the provision of pharmaceutical care at West Virginia University Hospitals through involvement in direct patient care, operational, education and administrative activities, and assumes a leadership role in the profession of pharmacy. This full time Clinical Pharmacy Specialist position will cover adult Medicine and Cardiology academic teaching services, including Medicine 1-6, Family Medicine, Neurology/Stroke, Advanced Heart Failure, General Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery and Cardiac Intensive Care (based on training). Scheduling is exclusively day shift with weekend and holiday responsibilities. The clinical duties of this position include, but are not limited to, multidisciplinary care team rounding, order verification, patient profile review, medication management, pharmacokinetic consultation, and other pharmacist-managed protocols. In addition, non-clinical expectations will include learner precepting, committee involvement, and participation in the adult Code Blue response team.
