Requirements

  • Experience as a medication aide in assisted living
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Professional, friendly, and dependable attitude
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
  • Regular standing, walking, sitting, and use of office equipment

Responsibilities

  • Safely prepare, administer, and document oral and topical medications
  • Verify resident identity and observe medication ingestion/application
  • Accurately record vital signs and report medication reactions or errors promptly
  • Maintain clear, timely documentation and medication records
  • Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, pharmacists, and team members
  • Support quality assurance efforts and participate in inspections and audits
  • Follow all medication labeling, storage, discontinuation, and disposal procedures
  • Protect resident confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards
