Responsible for enhancing and improving the SRIM experience specifically in the Heartful Care for our residents and their families by performing the following duties.

  • Demonstrates and promotes SRIM's core value of the Golden Rule, treating others, including residents, families, visitors, and associates, in the same way we would like to be treated.
  • Supervises self-administration of medication for residents.
  • Assists with ADL's, meal service, light housekeeping, and laundry while encouraging resident independence.
  • Speaks to/interacts with residents at all levels of care constantly, while showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect.
  • Observes and reports to supervisor daily and all changes in the resident’s health and emotional well-being.
  • Serves and assist residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.
  • Responsible for initiating and participating in leisure activities provided to residents as described in the activity calendar.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents at all times.
  • Performs daily general housekeeping duties following established cleaning schedules.
  • Ensures and supports a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and associates.
  • Always responds promptly and courteously to resident's requests for assistance including phone calls and requests from family members and visitors.
  • Communicates effectively in a language that each resident is capable of understanding.
  • Ensures residents and/or responsible parties sign residents out when they leave the community.
  • Maintains a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families, visitors, and associates.
  • Practices good body mechanics and safe working habits at all times.
  • Observes and reports safety hazards immediately to supervisor.
  • Provides assistance to associates when requested or required.
  • Knows, understands, and follows established policies and procedures in emergency situations.
  • Responsible for being considered essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather. Is required to report or remain at community until released by supervisor.
  • Works as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments.
  • Demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies, and procedures at all times.
  • Demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude with residents, families, visitors, associates and management at all times.
  • Complies with attendance and call off policy.
  • Attends and/or participates in trainings, in-service, and mandatory meetings.
  • Wears clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy at all times.
  • Refrains from discussing resident care issues with families and visitors and refers all inquiries to immediate supervisor.
  • Knows, understands, and complies with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assists with training of new employees.
  • Assists in mentoring new employees.
  • Takes the initiative in work, seeks out additional information, and offers solutions/suggestions, all without asking.
  • Takes on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties willingly.
  • Provides a variety of housekeeping and/or laundry duties in maintaining the community in an orderly, clean, and sanitary condition.
  • Performs all other reasonable duties as assigned.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • knowledge of word processing software and electronic medical records.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Medicine Technician (Med-Tech) certification
