About the position
Arden Courts ProMedica Memory Care Fair Oaks is hiring a full-time Med Tech with a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The Medicine Aide/Technician assists with prescribed medications and treatments, as defined by state regulations, to residents and maintains related work records under the supervision of the Nurse Supervisor. The Medicine Aide/Technician also acts as a Resident Caregiver, assisting residents in all aspects of their daily life as indicated in the resident service plan, including personal care, food service, housekeeping, laundry, behavior management, socialization, activities, orientation, and information needs. This position requires tact, sensitivity, and professionalism due to the constant interaction with residents and families to guarantee their satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Assist with prescribed medications and treatments as defined by state regulations.
- Maintain related work records under the supervision of the Nurse Supervisor.
- Act as a Resident Caregiver, assisting residents in daily life activities as per the resident service plan.
- Provide personal care, food service, housekeeping, laundry, behavior management, socialization, activities, orientation, and information needs to residents.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must successfully complete the required training from Springhouse/Arden Courts.
- Empathetic, resourceful, high self-esteem, flexible, responsive, attention to detail, compassionate, and friendly.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to read thermometers, charts, and testing equipment.
- Ability to operate clothes washers, dryers, and kitchen appliances.
- Good physical and mental health.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge and experience in working with the elderly required.
- Previous experience working with dementia preferred.
- Certification as required by state regulations.
