About The Position

Centurion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive healthcare services to the Illinois Department of Corrections. We are currently seeking a part-time Medication Room Assistant to join our team at Big Muddy River Correctional Center located in Ina, Illinois. The Medication Room Assistant works under the supervision of the Director of Nursing.

Requirements

• Be a high school graduate or hold a GED
• 1 year correctional health care or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• History of being well organized, communication effectively and detail oriented
• Knowledge of correctional healthcare principles and practices preferred; along with knowledge of applicable state and federal laws
• Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ BLS
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check

Responsibilities

• Assist with the organization and maintenance of medication room records
• Assist with the maintenance of medication room inventory and audit procedures
• Maintain the security of all medications and supplies under their control or supervision
• Processes supply requests in a prompt, cooperative and efficient manner
• Confirms ordered medications are received
• Logs outgoing medications
• Assists with the delivery of medications as determined by site administration
