Job Summary: We are seeking a Medication Passer to ensure our students receive their prescribed medications in a professional and courteous manner while adhering to company policies and state regulations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students while contributing to their overall therapeutic care.

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments following state regulations and company policies.
  • Verify the identity of residents receiving medication and document the drug name, dosage, and administration time.
  • Observe residents during medication intake and ensure proper application of treatments.
  • Monitor and report any reactions to medications and assist with medical concerns as needed.
  • Assist students with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and supporting personal hygiene.
  • Record and restock medication inventory to ensure a steady supply.
  • Perform narcotic counts and report any discrepancies to the Head Nurse.
  • Help monitor and document PRN medication outcomes and report to the nurse.
  • Work closely with nurses and direct care staff to ensure accurate medication administration.
  • Maintain accurate and legible medication logs and reports.
  • Report any incidents or concerns related to medication or student behavior.
  • Collaborate with the health services team to ensure students’ medication and healthcare needs are met.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and emergency procedures to maintain a safe environment for students and staff.
  • Follow all training and safety protocols for handling medications, including infection control standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, state, and federal medication administration regulations.
  • High School Diploma/GED with completed medication pass class and certification.
  • Knowledge of medication administration protocols and practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documenting medications and treatments.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and respond appropriately to medical situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, co-workers, and medical personnel.
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Ability to lift, move, and support students up to 150 pounds frequently, and over 200 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to implement physical intervention techniques and assist with student activities as needed.
  • CNA Experience preferred but not required
