About The Position

The Medication Management Clinician provides psychiatric evaluations, medication assessments, and ongoing medication management services to clients enrolled in the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (OMHC) at August Rose Health Center. This clinician plays a vital role in supporting the mental wellness of clients by integrating pharmacological interventions with therapeutic coordination and clinical team collaboration.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted license in Maryland as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Psychiatrist (MD/DO), or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS-PMH).
  • Current DEA license and Maryland CDS registration.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in outpatient psychiatric medication management.
  • Strong clinical documentation skills and proficiency in using EHR systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong understanding of psychotropic medications, side effect management, and integrated care.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations, including adolescents, adults, and transitional-age youth.
  • Familiarity with COMAR and CARF accreditation requirements.
  • Bilingual abilities (Spanish, French, ASL, etc.) are a plus.
  • Experience providing telehealth services.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
  • Develop individualized medication treatment plans in coordination with the treatment team.
  • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications based on clinical need, side effects, and treatment progress.
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, and treatment expectations.
  • Ensure documentation is completed in the EHR system (Insync) within 48 hours of service delivery.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and treatment team meetings as needed.
  • Collaborate with therapists and external providers to ensure continuity of care and compliance with COMAR regulations and CARF standards.
  • Complete necessary clinical documentation, including treatment plans and medication consents.
  • Respond to medication-related crises, side effects, and urgent client needs in a timely and clinically sound manner.
  • Maintain accurate licensure, credentials, and any required DEA registration.
  • Comply with all ethical, legal, and accreditation standards, including HIPAA COMAR 10.63.03.05, and CARF Behavioral Health standards.
