Positions Location: Lansing, MI Job Description General Purpose of Job : Assure that all drugs, supplies and equipment are received in accordance with proper and prudent practices. View existing inventory to remove outdated supplies for return to the manufacturers. Cross-trained to function as and assist, the buyer assistant and Pharmacy Technician I (3611). Essential Duties : This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position . Accountable for receiving all purchase items into inventory. Checks invoices against order sheets and verifies what was ordered against what was received. Responsible for placing pricing stickers on items received and putting them in their proper location for storage and dispensing. Prepare credit memos for items incorrectly shipped by wholesaler or calls the company to obtain credit for items shorted. Deliver packing slips and invoices to assistant buyer for verification. Responsible for preparing outdated items for pickup by pharmaceutical returns company. Receive recall notices and check inventory in all locations to assure recalled medications are pulled from stock and returned. Maintain recalled medication filing system. Transfer stock from the Lundia storage to dispensing area. Cross-trained to assist and cover for the buyer assistant including: maintaining the department's pharmaceutical and supply inventory, ordering pharmaceuticals and supplies for the department, processing accounts receivables and accounts payables paperwork, processing outpatient drugs and supplies, processing special purchase orders for the nursing units' inpatients and communicating their availability. Cross-trained to function as a Pharmacy technician I (3611) including: 1) Pulling medications for Pyxis Medication Cabinets and Restocking said Pyxis. 2) Packaging medication and compounding items as needed. 3) Assist with managing workflow of the main pharmacy, including Epic in-basket messages, pulling first doses, answering the phone and door, etc. Compounding of Non-sterile medications up to and including Moderate Compounding as defined by USP and Sterile medications up to and including Medium Risk as defined by USP Compounding caregivers adhere to the prescription or medical order for the strength, quality and purity of compounding preparations.
