About The Position

We are expanding our team to serve the needs of our community in the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri area! Central Ozarks Medical Center (COMC) is excited to announce an opening for a Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)-Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Registered Nurse Coordinator! COMC is a Missouri non-profit, federally qualified health center that has served Pulaski, Laclede, Camden and Miller counties for over 40 years. Requirements

  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Missouri or other compact state, in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; experience in behavioral health, addiction medicine, or primary care preferred.
  • Certification in addiction nursing (CARN, CARN-AP) is a plus, or willingness to obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience with electronic health records ideal.
  • Must be CPR certified or become certified during probationary period and maintain certification throughout employment with COMC.
  • Must maintain CEUs as directed by COMC.

  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Knowledge of fundamental math, adding machine, calculator, and Microsoft office.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, implement, and provide skilled nursing services for individuals with opioid dependence and other substance use disorders.
  • Integrate nursing care, patient education, and care coordination to improve engagement, treatment adherence, and recovery outcomes.
  • Use sound clinical judgment in decision-making, conducting assessments, intakes, evaluations, and ongoing monitoring of patients in medication-assisted treatment programs.
  • Serve as the primary nursing contact for the MAT program, overseeing daily clinical operations related to MAT services.
  • Coordinate scheduling and follow-up for MAT patients, including initial assessments, ongoing monitoring, and treatment plan reviews.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies regarding MAT, including DME, DEA, and SAMHSA guidelines.
  • Track and report program outcomes, quality metrics, and regulatory compliance indicators.
  • Conduct nursing assessments, including substance use history, withdrawal monitoring, and ongoing physical/mental health evaluations.
  • Administer and monitor MAT medications (e.g., buprenorphine, naltrexone) per provider orders and standing protocols.
  • Provide patient-centered education regarding MAT, recovery expectations, medication adherence, and harm reduction strategies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Coordinate lab work, urine drug screens, and other diagnostic monitoring as part of the treatment plan.
  • Assist in crisis intervention and linkage to emergency services when needed.
  • Maintain required MAT-related logs, inventories, and regulatory records.
  • Participate in audits, chart reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide education and coordinate training to clinical team members on anything clinical regarding MAT services.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing and other healthcare team members to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Document all required clinical areas in the EMR accurately and completely.
