About The Position

• Experience with medical collections and terminology.
• Familiarity with EDI systems.
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle electronic billing and coding for medical imaging services.
• Manage patient billing calls and inquiries.
• Review claim EDI rejections and resolve denial issues through appeals and reconsiderations.
• Code referring physician, insurance, and provider information accurately.
• Complete all interface steps, ensuring required data fields are checked before adding charges.
• Verify and adjust bills for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Review account information and explain charges while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
• Bill out all procedures performed with acceptable diagnosis codes for reimbursement.
• Verify benefits for all procedures and follow up on denied claims before filing deadlines.
• Obtain accounts receivable lists and collect payments.
