About The Position

Responsible for safely transporting patients to and from medical appointments, assisting with boarding and disembarking, while prioritizing the comfort and well-being of passengers with mobility challenges.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must maintain AHA CPR certification.
  • Must be HIPAA certified within 30 days of hire
  • Must be Modivcare driver certified within 30 days of hire and repeat training twice annually.
  • Must complete defensive driving course annually.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Have near normal hearing: Hear alarms/telephone/normal speaking voice.
  • Have near normal vision: Clarity of vision (both near and far), ability to distinguish colors.
  • Have good manual dexterity.
  • Have good eye-hand foot coordination.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks/motion.

Responsibilities

  • Safely pick up patients and transport them to their medical appointments, waiting as needed until the appointment is completed before returning them to their home.
  • Monitor patient condition during transit and respond appropriately to emergencies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe vehicle, ensuring it is properly equipped with necessary medical supplies and accessibility features, following all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Help patients enter and exit the vehicle, including those using wheelchairs or walkers, securely fastening mobility aids within the vehicle.
  • Maintain clear communication with patients, caregivers, and dispatchers, documenting trip details including pick-up and drop-off times, patient information, and any special needs.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections, report and vehicle issues and adhere to all safety protocols to ensure passenger safety.
