About The Position

The Medical Transcriptionist Scribe will document information in the electronic medical record as directed by physicians or advanced practice clinicians. This role focuses on accurately recording the provider's dictation and activities without any patient care responsibilities. The position is on-site and emphasizes quality care and service within a diverse and inclusive environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Six months of customer service experience in the medical field preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and technical spelling.
• Computer aptitude and ability to quickly learn new applications.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with a focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow.
• Ability to record information accurately and promptly.
• Aptitude to learn or have knowledge of exam, diagnostic, and treatment procedures and protocols.
• Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families.

Nice To Haves

• Specific medical terminology training.
• Knowledge of basic anatomy.
• Familiarity with coding and HIPAA regulations.
• Experience in medical, procedural, and diagnosis coding.

Responsibilities

• Document information in the electronic medical record at the direction of the physician or advanced practice clinician.
• Record the provider's dictation and activities accurately and promptly.
• Serve as a chaperone during sensitive exams after completing required education, if applicable.
• Foster a safe patient environment driven by the principles of 'First Do No Harm'.
• Engage in teamwork and community involvement to enhance patient experience.
