About The Position

MCH - Morris County Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist at Morris County Hospital in Council Grove, KS Qualifications Responsibilities include perform preventative maintenance and upkeep on all analyzers. This includes calibration, controls, and any trouble shooting issues that could arrive during testing. This includes the proper documentation of action/issue. Perform venipunctures as well as occasional blood gas arterial draws. Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results. Must have an understanding of knowledge of valid diagnosis coding used for testing. Generalist duties in following main areas: Hematology, Blood Bank, Clinical Chemistry, Coagulation, Specimen Processing and Microbiology setup. Follow lab guidelines for tests results and interpret abnormal/critical lab results and notify the proper personnel. Identify and if capable correct any problems that might lead to an erroneous lab value. Operate the Hospital LIS. Order, process, look up, and report tests in the system. Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology required. ASCP certified or eligible or certified by an equivalent accreditation agency or eligible. Work location is 600 N. Requirements

  • Identify and correct problems that might lead to erroneous lab values.
  • Operate the Hospital LIS to order, process, look up, and report tests.
