Medical Technologist Full Time Nights 10pm-6:30am. Every other weekend and rotating holidays We are North Shore Medical Center. Prepares specimens for microscope examination. Operates laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. Requires graduation from an accredited MLT program and passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Performs analysis of body fluids and exudates. Performs various chemical procedures on specimens using several laboratory equipment. Performs quality control procedures, linearities, instrument checks and maintenance of instruments. Records workload and other statistics. Calculates and tabulates results and makes reports of observations. Post tests findings. Generalist position with emphasis on Microbiology and rotations through blood bank, chemistry, coagulation, hematology, and urinalysis. Performs manual and automated routine blood tests. Prepares specimens for microscope examination. Operates laboratory equipment and performs a variety of tasks. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. Requires graduation from an accredited MLT/MLS program and passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology or equivalent. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within medical laboratory field. 3 months experience preferred. Rotating holidays and weekends.
