Part-time Medical laboratory technologist
About The Position
An excellent opportunity exists for a Medical Technologist to work in a college health setting . The qualified candidate is responsible for obtaining and preparing laboratory specimens and performing all diagnostic testing and related quality controls . This is a generalist job with rotation in chemistry, hematology, serology/ immunology and microbiology . Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience . Current certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology is preferred . Must be proficient in venipuncture technique . Must have experience in the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of various laboratory analyzers and computer systems. The Unit of Student Affairs is seeking applicants for part-time job of Clinical laboratory scientist/medical technologist. Job duties to include: specimen collection procedures, including venipuncture clinical laboratory testing including hematology, chemistry, serology, microbiology, urinalysis and waived testing
Requirements
- bachelor’s degree or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be proficient in venipuncture technique
- Must have experience in the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of various laboratory analyzers and computer systems
Nice To Haves
- Clinical laboratory scientist, medical laboratory scientist, or medical technologist
- ASCP certification preferred
- Current certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology is preferred
