MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST Position The Medical Technologist performs complex laboratory tests and analyses to assist physicians in diagnosing, monitoring, and treating patients. Perform various chemical and bacteriological tests. Working closely with urine, blood, and tissue samples, prepare and examine specimen samples and communicate test results to medical professionals. ASPERMONT, TEXAS- STONEWALL MEMORIAL HOSPITAL DISTRICT. 1 Fulltime position for Medical Technologist ; perform various chemical and bacteriological tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis & treatment of diseases in the department of Hematology, Chemistry, Toxicology, Immunohematology and Bacteriology. In a hospital, setting, observe, monitor, record, interpret & report results on test performed with accuracy; Operate computers, equipment and analyzers and response to the instrument needs such as reagent, quality control and calibrations; Prepares reagent, performs quality control, does troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on the analyzers per manufacturer and department specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science.
  • Certification: American Medical Technologist (AMT) or American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Certified or Eligible for Certification.
  • At least 12 months’ clinic or hospital experience.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
