The Part-time Medical Technologist 2nd shift position in the Product QC Laboratory supports the Blood Center by performing clinical laboratory testing and assessing blood products for acceptability. The anticipated hourly wage starts at $24.78 per hour and is commensurate with experience. Requirements

A bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or a related science field is required.
Must possess basic computer skills, strong attention to detail, and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and listening) to engage with employees of all backgrounds.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle changing priorities to meet the needs of the blood center.

Nice To Haves

A background in healthcare with 1 year of experience in a laboratory is preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the testing and assessment of blood products and ensures that all testing is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Follows established policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality of laboratory results.
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment; maintains laboratory supply inventory.
Prepares specimens for testing as well as labeling of blood products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
