As a Senior Medical Technologist, your strong procedural experience, attention to detail and developed leadership abilities greatly assist you in accurately performing clinical laboratory analysis and examination, leading to high quality diagnostic services. Point of care testing (POCT) involves performing diagnostic tests near the patient, such as at the bedside, in a doctor's office, or even at home, to get faster results for quicker treatment decisions. While central labs run a wide variety of tests, POCT focuses on tests needing rapid turnaround, like blood glucose or pregnancy tests, and utilizes a central management system to track devices, operator certifications, and quality control to ensure patient safety and meet regulatory standards.
